Eyam Church

The eyam church closed during the plague as William Mompesson and  Thomas Stanley decided to hold services in the open air on Cucklett Delf. A Plague Commemorative Service is still held annually nearby the valley. Despite the church being closed during the plague, to this day it contains the graves of people who died during the plague and a memorial. The church also contains the grave of the viccar's wife Catherine Mompesson.
